Chocolate Toffee Triangles
1 Cup butter ( 3 sticks)
1 Cup brown sugar
1 package milk chocolate chips
about 30 saltine crackers
3/4 cup of chopped nuts, more or less
Cover a 15 x 10 cookie sheet with tin foil. Use a cookie sheet with side
borders. Lightly grease the cookie sheet under the foil, and lightly grease the
foil as well. Cover the cookie sheet with saltines spreading them out
evenly.
In a saucepan melt the butter and add the brown sugar. Gradually heat up the
mixture to a boil stirring constantly. Boil 3 minutes. Pour the hot mixture
gently over the crackers and bake for 5 minutes in a 375 degree oven. Remove and
sprinkle the chocolate chips over the entire sheet. After a minute, the chips
will melt and you will be able to spread them evenly like an icing over the top.
Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the chocolate.
Cool over night in the freezer or until the chocolate is solid. Remove the
foil from the bottom, then cut into triangles.
